What is Cruisin' for Perfusion?
The AmSECT Student Council was hard at work this past October getting their steps in. What in the past was known as the AmSECT Heart walk now presents with a revamped name ‘Cruisin for Perfusion’. This is an annual walk put on by the AmSECT Student Council to raise funds for the students to attend the International conference in the spring.
Students from Emory, UNMC, MUSC, TJU, and University of Arizona, as well as practicing CCPs and furry friends, hit the pavement to support our students. Those who put in the most miles won their choice of a perfusion themed scrub cap. Our CCP winner was Ruth Garcia, clocking 8.04 miles. 2nd year student winner, Ryan Cruz, put in 8.32 miles. Patrick Hood, 1st year student winner, went above and beyond with 12.84 miles.
Congrats to all of the winners and enjoy those snazzy scrub caps! Those still interested in supporting the students can by purchasing a scrub cap with designs created by student council’s own Sophie Celentano. The AmSECT student council appreciates your continued support and can’t wait to see everyone in sunny San Diego!
