Join us in San Diego as we bring together colleagues from across the globe to share insights and best practices to advance patient care, our education and lifelong learning, and our own physical and mental health.
Attendees of the AmSECT 63rd International Conference can receive up to 45 Category I CEUs, as approved by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
Credit is contingent upon attendance and completion of conference evaluations. Credits are dependent on faculty availability, as schedule is subject to change. Only live attendees (in-person or virtual) will receive credit; no credit is given for on-demand viewing.
Keynote by Christine Stead, MHSA
Building Service-Line Excellence and Capacity by Supporting Ourselves and Our Teams
Christine is the CEO of ELSO, the premier global nonprofit for all things related to ECMO and ECLS. ELSO brings together providers, industry, regulatory agencies, and others to improve patient outcomes for those treated with ECMO and ECLS. ELSO is committed to advancing scientific evidence and supporting our members to achieve high quality programs. ELSO maintains the world’s oldest and largest ECMO registry, with over 230,000 cases and growing. ELSO is comprised of member centers around the world, organized in 4 regional chapters.
Prior to joining ELSO, Christine advised top-tier academic institutions and others, including Michigan Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, NYULMC, National Institutes of Health, University Health Network (Toronto) for 20 years.
Christine has served as an elected official on the Board of Education for the Ann Arbor Public Schools for 9 years. She serves on several non-profit boards to help improve the health and wellness where she lives, including Chair of the Board for HWPI - building 70 miles of non-motorized safe trails across Southeast Michigan.
Wellness Run/Walk

Greet the day with an invigorating morning wellness run or walk, and watch the the sun rise over the scenic Coronado Bay area!
We will meet in the Lobby area at 5:30am sharp.
Help us achieve our target of $3k to go towards the Rady Children's Hospital - San Diego. Generous AmSECT colleagues have offered to match up to $1.5k to help us achieve our goal. The final donation will be announced during the Patient Story session on Sunday, where we will hear from a local family and their battle with CHD.
Participation is free. If you did not register ahead of time, you can still join us! Sign up at the registration desk or even show up morning-of. All are welcome.

AmSECT Blood Drive
Friday, March 21 & Saturday, March 22
9:00am-2:30pm
We will be hosting a mobile blood drive during the conference! Stop by any time between 9:00am and 2:30pm on Friday or Saturday to help save lives.
Donations will be given to the San Diego Blood Bank.
To help minimize wait times, attendees are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment rather than rely on walk-in availability. Due to capacity limitations, only two individuals can be accommodated at a time.

Legends Lunch with Tim Willcox
Join us for an inspiring session honoring Tim Willcox, a pioneer in perfusion and a cornerstone of New Zealand's cardiac care advancements. With over five decades at Auckland City Hospital's Greenlane Cardiothoracic Unit, Tim has been instrumental in establishing critical programs in cardiac, lung, and liver transplantation, as well as ECMO services. A life member and past President of the ANZCP, Tim has shaped the profession through leadership, education, and innovation, including his stewardship of the Perfusion Improvement Reporting System (PIRS2) and contributions to the Australia and New Zealand Collaborative Perfusion Registry. Beyond his clinical and academic achievements, Tim has championed charitable missions, bringing life-saving surgery to Samoa. As he prepares to retire from clinical practice, this session celebrates his remarkable contributions and enduring legacy in perfusion safety and care.
