Description
As a Perfusionist at Trinity Health, you will be responsible for operating heart-lung machines and other life support equipment during surgeries. Your expertise will be vital in managing cardiovascular perfusion and ensuring optimal patient outcomes throughout complex procedures.
Required
- Prepare, operate, and maintain cardiopulmonary bypass equipment and related devices during surgeries.
- Monitor patients' physiological parameters and adjust perfusion support as needed during procedures.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure the smooth progression of operations.
- Maintain accurate perfusion records and process documentation throughout surgical procedures.
- Educate surgical team members about best practices and changes in perfusion protocols.
- Stay current with advancements in perfusion technology and techniques through ongoing education and professional development.
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Perfusion Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
- A minimum of two years of clinical perfusion experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
- Valid state medical license to practice in North Dakota.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Special Qualifications
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in operating advanced perfusion equipment and software.
- Ability to perform critical thinking and make rapid decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to continuing education in the field of perfusion and healthcare technology.
