Position Title: Pediatric Perfusionist
Location: Washington, DC
Description: Children's National Hospital is seeking a pediatric perfusionist to join our team of 5 perfusionists and 4 surgeons.
The clinical perfusionist functions as a member of the perfusion team, clinically providing extracorporeal perfusion services and related procedures to a defined patient population that includes operating the heart-lung machine during open heart surgery and procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). In addition offering blood conservation therapy techniques utilizing a cell salvaging device, assisting in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) related services for patients requiring cardiopulmonary support for pulmonary or cardiac failure, and supporting ventricular assist device (VAD) related services for patients in heart failure requiring heart transplantation and shall have "on-call" responsibilities, both primary and backup to support these services (N+1 support). The clinical perfusionist will be expected to participate in research through internal and external collaborations, data collection and analysis, as well as evaluation. The clinical perfusionist will also play a key role in the maintenance of quality assurance standards and set guidelines by continuously promoting safety and protection of those defined patients at all times.

Requirements: Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's or master's degree and have completed training from an accredited perfusion school. Pediatric perfusion experience is preferred, but not necessary. Exceptionally high performing new graduate perfusionists who are eligible to meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.
