JOB SUMMARY
Perform all adult perfusion services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs cardiopulmonary bypass for adult and pediatric perfusion procedures.
Assists with venovenous bypass for liver transplants.
Performs perfusions and consultations for isolated limbs, renal, etc.
In charge of the setup and operation of the RIS devices, cell saver devices (for liver transplantation), the IABP, various VAD devices, and ECMO/ELSO devices.
Monitors autologous platelet concentration in patients.
Monitors for Intraperitoneal hyperthermia in patients.
Perform or provide standby coverage for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).
Will be on perfusion standby for specific procedures.
Provide educational functions for the patient, family members and allied health personnel.
Provide evaluations on new products utilized in clinic or surgical OR.
Contribute/conduct to research in collaboration with CII (Cardiovascular Innovation Institute) and CARE (Clinical Cardiovascular Research).
Participate in first and second call coverage.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
Expected to participate in continuing education

WORKING CONDITIONS
Hospital or clinic environment with frequent exposure to electricity, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, infectious waste, fumes or gases, radiation, occasional exposure to laser and constant exposure to blood borne pathogens and biological.
