64th AmSECT International Conference

Submit Abstract
We are now accepting abstract submissions for the 64th AmSECT International Conference taking place from March 25-29, 2026. This is your opportunity to share your research, knowledge, and vision with conference attendees.
We invite you to submit an abstract for an oral and/or poster presentation. Whether a student, recent grad or established perfusionist, share how you're leading the way in the field by submitting your work for consideration.
Our goal is to provide attendees with the most current and cutting-edge educational content.
We are looking for abstracts that highlight proven, effective, and stimulating educational experiences.

Submit your abstract by 11:59 CST on December 5 to be considered for this year’s abstract awards. Selected abstract presenters and winners will be notified of their acceptance by the end of January and are expected to accept or decline within a timely manner.

Submission Requirements
- Agree to attend the 64th AmSECT International Conference in-person. Understand that registration fees are required and are not waived with acceptance.
- Understand that there is no financial assistance should your abstract be selected.
- If accepted, you agree to submit a manuscript to AmSECT’s Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology (JECT) prior to the end of the conference. JECT is the premier source of the most current research and information related to extracorporeal technology including cardiopulmonary bypass, extracorporeal life support, mechanical assist devices, and perioperative blood management. Note: Assistance on this process will be provided.
Abstract Awards
Fellowship Award - This Award will be presented annually to the individual who has presented the most outstanding scientific paper (also known as abstract) on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $1000.
Student Scientific Presentation Award - This award is presented annually to the student who has presented the most outstanding scientific oral presentation on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $1000.
The Ed Ristaino Memorial Scholarship Award - sponsored by the North Carolina Society of Perfusion, is presented to the student with the second highest score for an oral presentation. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $750.
Scientific Poster Award - This Award will be presented annually to the individual who has displayed the most outstanding scientific poster at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $500.
