Description
Perfusion Associates of Central Florida (PACF) is seeking an Autotransfusionist / Cell Salvage Specialist to support our expanding surgical blood management services across leading hospital systems in Central Florida.
This role provides intraoperative cell salvage and blood conservation support for a variety of surgical specialties including neurosurgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, general surgery, transplant, and obstetrics. The Autotransfusionist is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting autotransfusion equipment while ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and accurate documentation of blood recovery and reinfusion.
The position works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and operating room staff to ensure safe and efficient blood management during surgical procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment readiness, assisting with supply management, and supporting surgical teams across multiple operating room environments.
This is a clinical, hands-on role within PACF’s growing autotransfusion service line.
Requirements
- PBMT certification or equivalent training in autotransfusion technology preferred. Candidates with strong operating room or surgical support experience may also be considered
- Minimum 1–3 years of clinical autotransfusion or related operating room experience preferred, but motivated candidates with relevant training are encouraged to apply
- Experience supporting complex surgical specialties such as neurosurgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, or transplant is a plus
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills required. Candidates must be comfortable working in fast-paced operating room environments and standing for extended periods while managing surgical equipment setup and breakdown
