Description
Autonomous leader of the cardiovascular perfusion program, including direct oversight of the perfusionists and cardiovascular anesthesia technicians (CVAT). This individual will collaborate with leaders of the ECMO and VAD programs. Administrative duties include team management; budget preparation; purchasing and management of supplies and equipment; and evaluation of new products. Must be able to collaborate and problem solve with a multidisciplinary team. The ability to trend program growth and industry innovation to anticipate future needs for this program are imperative qualities. Work also includes the principal duties and responsibilities of a cardiovascular perfusionist.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited training program with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Master’s is preferred.
- Certification by the AACP is required and is expected to be maintained.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a certified cardiovascular perfusionist.
- Pediatric perfusion experience is preferred.
- Management experience is required.
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with staff, physicians, administrators, and operating room personnel.
- Must possess leadership qualities that include organizational and problem-solving skills that will aid in providing direction and support to the staff and programs.
