Location

Description
Be first. Indiana Donor Network is building the first perfusion department inside a U.S. Organ Procurement Organization and we're looking for a Certified Clinical Perfusionist to help with launching this program. This isn't a seat on an existing team. It's a chance to shape a brand-new specialty inside organ donation, bringing normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) and normothermic/hypothermic machine perfusion for kidneys, livers, and lungs directly into the recovery process — extending organ viability, improving outcomes, and giving more patients on the transplant list a chance at life.
What You'll Do
- Perform NRP during donation after circulatory death (DCD) organ recovery cases.
- Run machine perfusion — normothermic and hypothermic — for kidney, liver, and lung preservation.
- Partner across the chain with recovery surgeons, OPO clinical staff, and transplant centers to optimize organ viability and outcomes.
- Help build the department as a founding team member: protocols, equipment standards, training, and quality processes that don't exist anywhere else yet.
- Maintain equipment and documentation to the standards organ transplantation demands.
- Respond to recovery cases across Indiana on a 24-hours-on/72-hours-off schedule, with regional and statewide travel to donor hospitals.
- And other duties as this new program takes shape.
Requirements
- Current CCP certification (American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion), active and in good standing.
- Clinical perfusion experience - 3+ years in cardiac surgery, with ECMO, VAD and transplants a plus.
- Availability for on-call response under a 24-on/72-off rotation, with the flexibility to travel to donor hospitals throughout the region and state on short notice.
- Alignment with our values: drive & innovation, integrity & teamwork, and excellence & impact.
