Description
As an ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist you will operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring long-term pulmonary and/or cardiopulmonary support. The ECMO Specialist functions interdependently following standing ECMO orders and parameters under the direction and clinical supervision by of an ECMO physician.
Requirements
- Education & Licensing: Associate's or Bachelor's degree with active licensing/certification as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP).
- ECMO Expertise: Advanced working knowledge of ECMO circuits, pumps, and system operations.
- Clinical Management: Proficiency in adjusting pump flow, sweep flow, and FiO2; managing anticoagulation therapy within physician parameters; performing point-of-care testing; operating monitoring systems; and upholding institutional policies.
