Description
The University of Rochester Medical Center has an immediate opening for a Perfusionist to join its Cardiac Surgery Team. This role is responsible for all aspects of cardiovascular perfusion during adult open-heart surgery.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical skill and clinical judgment, including the operation and maintenance of perfusion equipment and the application of current perfusion principles, techniques, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate the heart lung machine (S5 with Essenz on the way) – cases include: CABG, Minimally Invasive Robotic CABG, Valve Replacements, Minimally Invasive Valve Replacements, Aortic Cases, Heart Transplants, VADs, ECMO, VV bypass for Liver transplants, AngioVac, DCD-NRP, standby for TAVR and Lead Extractions
- Document and manage patient data using the eRecord Epic platform
- Education contribution to several services within the hospital
- Model URMC’s ICARE values - Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence - in every interaction
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited Perfusion Program
- American Board Certified or board eligible
- Current New York State Perfusion License or Permit
