Description
UT Southwestern Medical Center is looking for an additional full-time perfusionist to join our expanding adult cardiac surgery program. We are a university-based program under the Dept of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
A great opportunity for new grads and experienced perfusionists to work with highly skilled and experienced perfusionists and surgeons at a leading academic medical center. Come work with our collaborative, supportive, and enthusiastic perfusion team in exciting Dallas, TX!
Adult only cases (~1400/yr) including complex aortic repairs, Heart/Lung Transplants, LVAD, IABP, Impella, ECMO only related to the OR (ECMO specialists anything outside the OR including sitting ECMO and a separate ECPR team), valves, CABGs (no OPCABG), AngioVacs, TAVRs, PTE, and Hepzato procedures.
Cover call equally split between 10 perfusionists, 1st/2nd on the weekdays and 1/2/3rd call on weekends. We also rotate and have 1 perfusionist cover the Dallas VA with the same surgeons at UTSW 1-3x a week.
Terumo System 1, CardioQuip Heater Cooler, Haemonetics Cell Saver and CardioHelp are the main equipment used.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited perfusion program with 0 to 10 years of experience
- Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
- Licensed or eligible to obtain a license in the state of Texas
- Must reside within 30 minutes of UTSW Clements University Hospital when on-call
