Description
St. Peter's Hospital is seeking a Staff Perfusionist to join our cardiac team in Albany, NY. The Staff Perfusionist is responsible for all aspects of perfusion-related services in collaboration with anesthesia, surgery, and nursing administration, ensuring safe operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures to maintain established standards of patient care.
St. Peter's is the flagship tertiary care center for a large healthcare network in Upstate New York, ranked in the top 5% of hospitals in the state. Our Cardiac Program is supported by 4 Cardiac Surgeons performing 450–550 procedures annually, consisting of all adult open-heart cases. We also have an active and growing ECMO program. No VADs or transplants.
On-call duties are rotated among up to 6 team members, providing a strong work-life balance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) New York Perfusion License.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, competence across the full range of perfusion procedures, effective teamwork, detail-oriented documentation, and commitment to safety, compliance, and professional standards.
