Description
Strata Critical Medical, Inc. is seeking a full-time Staff Perfusionist to join the cardiac surgery team at Baptist Health Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a stable, well-established adult cardiac program with a manageable case volume and a strong emphasis on clinical quality, teamwork, and patient safety. At full staffing, the team consists of four perfusionists, supporting a favorable one-in-four call rotation (seven days of call followed by three weeks off, roughly 25% on-call) and excellent work–life balance. The role supports cardiac surgery, the cath lab, ICU/CVICU, and emergent cardiopulmonary bypass needs. Compensation: $145,000–$185,000 annually (based on experience), plus a $50,000 sign-on bonus, 401(k) with match, health/dental/vision insurance, FSA, company-paid life insurance, PTO, and annual CME reimbursement. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher; graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program; certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion; and current BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
- Responsibilities include operating extracorporeal circulation systems; performing ECMO, VAD (if applicable), IABP, autotransfusion, hemofiltration, and blood gas analysis; administering medications and blood products via the circuit; maintaining documentation; and coordinating care with surgical, anesthesia, and ICU teams.
- Strong communication, sound clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety required.
