Call for Abstracts: 65th AmSECT International Conference
Share your research, insights, and innovations with the global perfusion community! We are now accepting abstract submissions for the 65th AmSECT International Conference, taking place March 17–21, 2027.
Whether you wish to present a poster, deliver an oral presentation, or both, this is your platform to showcase how you’re advancing the field. We are seeking submissions that offer cutting-edge research, practical solutions, and engaging educational content.

- Create an account with Oxford Abstracts (be sure to save your credentials to track your submission status).
- Complete the form and submit your abstract for review.
Important Deadline: Submit your work by November 23 at 11:59 PM CST to be considered for conference presentations and abstract awards. Notifications will be sent by late January, and selected presenters will need to confirm their participation shortly thereafter.
Submission Requirements
- Agree to attend the 2027 AmSECT 65th International Conference in person. Understand that registration is required and is not waived with acceptance.
- Understand that there is no financial assistance should your abstract be selected. However, some abstracts are awarded financially.
- Agree that your abstract will be judged by AmSECT.
- Submit your accepted abstract to AmSECT’s Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology (JECT) as a manuscript. JECT is the premier source of the most current research and information related to extracorporeal technology including cardiopulmonary bypass, extracorporeal life support, mechanical assist devices, and perioperative blood management. Note: Assistance on this process will be provided.
Abstract Awards
Fellowship Award - This award will be presented annually to the individual who has presented the most outstanding scientific paper (also known as abstract) on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $1000.
Student Scientific Presentation Award - This award is presented annually to the student who has presented the most outstanding scientific oral presentation on a research project at the International Conference. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $1000.
The Ed Ristaino Memorial Scholarship Award - Sponsored by the North Carolina Society of Perfusion, is presented to the student with the second highest score for an oral presentation. The award consists of a certificate and a prize of $750.
Scientific Poster Award - This award will be presented annually to the individual who has displayed the most outstanding scientific poster at the International Conference. The award consists of a plaque and a prize of $500.
